Emily & Edward's Cotswold Wedding at Cripps Barn
The very first time I met Emily and Edward we drank, laughed our socks off and most importantly... we clicked. It was like catching up with old buddies and hearing all about the plans for their up and coming wedding the following year which was going to be at one of my all-time favourite Cotswold venues, Cripps Barn here in Gloucestershire.
We caught up the following mid-February for coffee, very good Chocolate & Guinness cake and their very anticipated Engagement Experience. This was a great way to build their confidence that cameras are not that scary, to have some fun and to capture some love between the two of them.
As a photojournalist, capturing raw natural moments is paramount. I find that really candid moments between people is the best way to tell their story as you can really see the love and strong bond between them in the most honest of ways, which leaves me feeling quite blessed for being trusted enough to document these little stories form them.
Later that year... May came around so fast, the Wedding Day had finally arrived and we all knew that we were in for a real treat. Emily & Ed's personalities were stamped all over their day and if you love the authenticity of what has been coined "real wedding", well this my friends was as real as it could get. We kicked off the day with capturing all the hassle and bustle of bridal prep which is one of my favourite times of the day. I see it as the start to the story of what is install for us and is a chance for some great fun shots.
Emily arrived in style thanks to Suzie form Kushy Cars from Cheltenham and their old Indian Ambassador car which is so so beautiful. On arrival Emily was straight down the aisle with dad on arm to Ed the was well, lets just say, a little emosh. They were just beaming at each other and kicked things off with nice big hugs.
So I knew from the off set we were in for a treat in the evening. Everyone was there to celebrate Em & Ed's love for each other with not only a lovely and very moving ceremony that touched everyone, but with a big ol party in the evening. Honestly, the floor was packed and it was going right off all night long with plenty of air guitar and proper ol school moshing. Ed who towers above my 6' 1" frame and an avid American Foot Ball player was right in there bouncing around strumming along to AC/DC's Thunderstruck along with his dad, ex England football Captain and player Terry Butcher, was a sight to see. Everyone that knows me knows that I do LOVE a good party and if its going off, then I am in the thick of it shooting fun as I go.
I'm one to experiment so thought that by getting a little creative, I could capture the vibe of what was going on and especially those epic light trails. I LOVED how they framed everyone and really made those shots POP!
Emily & Ed's Big Day was certainly one to remember. Their families were so lovely and their friends sharing the day with the happy couple were a real credit to them.
My style is truly Moment Driven and if like me you really love authentic storytelling based around relaxed and candid photojournalism. I am based not too far from the Cotswolds here in Gloucestershire and would love to meet you and hear all about your story so far.
I'm a recommended photographer of Cripps Barn and have photographed a good number of weddings there over the years, so if you need a Cotswold Wedding Photographer for your special day why not have a look at my portfolio.
