Stunning summer wedding of Jenny & Richard at the Great Tythe Barn in the Cotswolds.Image of wedding couple celebrating with a hug

Jenny & Richard chose to have their wedding at the Great Tythe Barn near Tetbury here in the Cotswolds over the summer.  The venue itself is perfect for couples and their guests that are coming from out of town as it has plenty of on-site accommodation. There is a rather good sized manor house for the bridal party and families as well as cute cottages situated around a central courtyard for guests. This was absolutely perfect for Jenny & Richards day as they had themselves come from London and a number of Jenny's family from Australia.  The GTB is in the heart of the Cotswolds which is perfect for me as a Cotswold wedding photographer.

We were blessed with a warm Cotswold day with plenty of sunshine and a few wispy clouds in the sky so, it was a "must have" to host the ceremony outside. Jenny and her bridesmaids were "glammed" up in the manor house before the short walk arm and arm with her very proud dad to the walled garden where Richard was standing and very eagerly waiting to see Jenny come down the aisle.  The ceremony was sweet and emotional, this madly in love couple could not stop grinning, they really were head over heels!  Jenny's uncles, a true double act, gave a speech together which had everyone in stitches and the atmosphere was one of fun and laughter.

After the ceremony guests were treated to champagne and canapés on the lawn... in the sun and surrounded by apple trees, which was lovely. Jenny & Richard had requested a few family and group photos so this was the perfect time for it. The awesome thing was, no one was too serious, it was all about the fun and with a good number of Aussie guests and a Kiwi photographer, it was a laugh a minute, especially when Richard demonstrated a few strides that could have only come from Monty Python's Ministry of Funny Walks right across a family photo - brilliant!

Later in the day after the tastiest of wedding breakfast and a few emotional and yet somewhat hilarious heartfelt speeches, including one from Jenny I might add, we thought that we would make the most of the last rays of light and head into the gardens for a few romantic shots as the sun was starting to slip away. Jenny had bought a couple of Thank You signs with her so that we could get a shot for their Thank You cards before the happy couple practised their moves for the first dance under a large oak tree.  After we had what we needed, it was time to cut the cake and seeing as it was a lovely evening I had it bought outside to be cut on the lawn.

Before the band started, Jenny & Richard took to the dance floor and blew everyone away with their slick moves right before everyone joined in and let their hair down and danced the night away.  I really love this bit as I love getting on the dance floor, especially when there is a good band playing, and capturing the fun and excitement of guests throwing shapes... and on occasion trying to breakdance!

Jenny and Richard are among some of the loveliest warmest couples around.  They were a lot of fun and that radiated from them throughout the day and you could really tell that their families and friends played a big part in who they are. Their choice of venue was perfect and among one of my favourites for what it has to offer. The food there is amazing, and if you like good local produce, good portions and stunning flavours you won't be disappointed, that I can promise you.

The Great The Barn is situated on the outskirts of Tetbury here in the Cotswolds and has very handy links to Cheltenham and Gloucester here in Gloucestershire.

Jenny and Richard had also requested a highlights Wedding Movie that was shot by Sharper Films.

Here are a few photographs from their Cotswold wedding collection for you to look over and if you would love to have myself a Cotswold wedding photographer there to candidly document your day for you, please do get in touch and I would love to send you over my brochure.
